 NEW 472/474
Exam Information
There will be three exams for the seminar. They are major scholarly
essays and the specific exam expectations for my papers can be found at
the Py 491 link under exams. The exam questions for this seminar
are: Exam One: With a focus on Prejudice, identify and discuss
the antecedents and basic constructs that help us understand the rise of
Nazism and the beginning of the Continuum of Destruction. Take the
timeline up to the invasion of Russia and include both Lebensraum and
the Persecution as part of the story. Use and cite all appropriate
sources. Exam
Two: Beginning with the invasion of Russia and the activation of the
Einsatzgruppen and the Wannsee Conference, and using the Continuum of
Destruction and Boundary Crossing, describe the nature, process and means
of the Final Solution to the Jewish Question. Again, use all appropriate
soruces and take this question up to Liberation and the end of the War.
Exam Three: Using the basic model of the Jones' book and the reflections
of Primo Levi in his The Drowned and the Saved, and drawing upon all the
class material, with a major emphasis on the last videos, discuss the
ethical, legal and moral issues of responsibility, both individually and
collectively. |
